About the MTIS
MTIS is Comet Yxlon's X-ray system for 24/7 inline inspection of radial tyres, in TBR (truck and bus) and PCR (passenger car) versions. Comet Yxlon reports more than 375 units sold and an uptime above 95 % — manufacturer figures, not EMUS commitments.
A horseshoe-shaped UScan3 line detector (16-bit) images the tyre while four synchronously driven spindles rotate it without slipping or deformation. This reproducible manipulation is the basis for collecting statistical process data on every tyre.
Y.TireAXIS™ performs automatic defect recognition (ADR) with configurable inspection programs; Y.TireView supports supervised inspection with live view and image adjustment. Detectable irregularities include mispositioned steel components, loose wires or dog ears, cord separation or irregular spacing, foreign inclusions, bead-core defects, irregular belt edges and asymmetric tread structure. Integration options include standard conveyor interfaces, MES connection and barcode readers.
