EMUS — engineering quality control

OES Metal Analysis

Full elemental analysis of metals — including light elements — from melt control to laboratory.

The inspection problem

Foundries and metal processors need to control chemistry between the furnace and the pour, and confirm incoming material meets specification.

Why it matters

An off-spec heat scrapped after casting is far more expensive than one caught before pouring. Wrong incoming material is worse still.

Method comparison

Which method fits your part?

Every method has a sweet spot and a limitation. Choose based on defect, geometry, throughput and access — not on habit.

Stationary OES

When it fits: Melt control, incoming material analysis, laboratory work.

Limitations: Requires a prepared surface and argon; instrument footprint.

Mobile OES

When it fits: PMI on installed structures and large parts.

Limitations: Slightly higher detection limits than laboratory OES.
