Solutions
Prove every critical weld — and document it
Welds concentrate stress and risk. We help you detect, size and record weld defects with methods matched to your material, thickness and code requirements.
Weld Inspection
Welded joints can hide lack of fusion, porosity, cracks and incomplete penetration that are invisible on the surface. You need to find these defects reliably, size them against acceptance criteria, and keep records that satisfy customers and codes.
A failed weld in pressure equipment, structures or rolling stock can be catastrophic and carries serious safety and legal consequences. Code-compliant, traceable weld inspection is essential for acceptance, fitness-for-service and long-term reliability.
Approaches worth considering
There is rarely a single right answer. These are the methods most relevant to this challenge — the best choice depends on your part and goals.
Phased array ultrasonics (PAUT)
Detailed imaging and detection of planar and volumetric weld defects across a range of thicknesses.
Time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD)
Accurate sizing and monitoring of defects to support acceptance decisions.
Digital radiography / X-ray
Volumetric imaging of porosity and inclusions with immediate, archivable results.
Remote visual & eddy current
Videoscopy for internal weld access and eddy current for surface-breaking cracks.
The technologies behind these methods
Explore each technology in depth — what it does, where it's used and the equipment categories involved.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT, PAUT, TOFD)
Ultrasonic testing — including phased array and TOFD — detects and sizes internal defects in welds and thick sections with traceable, imaging-rich results.
